Re: New Red and Orange Line Cars

I've seen them relatively regularly on the third track at Sullivan. There's a video somewhere in this thread I think of the train stopping at DTX and even opening the doors (on the wrong side) with...

Re: The New Retail Thread

Very good to know. I've enjoyed the trip out the Charlton to visit the brewery (it's a beautiful property). I'll continue to do that and rotate between the outdoor beer gardens and patios around...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

Cool, I think this rumor has been swirling a bit. It'll be the 3rd airline with scheduled (seasonal) A380 service to BOS (Emirates and BA both fly them to BOS now).

I've actually flown both...

Re: The New Retail Thread

True. Didn't think of that/still haven't been there.

It'd be great. They're certainly producing enough at their facility to do it. Perhaps their Back Bay pop up beer garden is the closest...

Re: Brutalist Revival

It's the government owned examples I'm specifically concerned about. Not because the city or state will flip them to developers, but because the lack of investment in upkeep will eventually lead to a...

Re: MXD Residential Tower | 135 Broadway | Kendall Square

Agreed. I believe it was mentioned by someone in this or another Kendall project thread, but there are already way too many "plazas" and "green spaces" scattered throughout the neighborhood....

Re: The New Retail Thread

There are breweries across the state you have to drive to. Not sure why a mall would be any different/ a problem? Tree House, arguably the most sought after brewery in the state (all of New England)...

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

Dumb Millennial question - do they take cards, or is it cash only for the fare?

Re: Logan Flight Additions

Probably. Without some sort of significant additional financial incentive, it's hard to see any airline launching Boston-Basel. It's an hour and 15 minutes from Zurich airport which has a direct...

Re: State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

Haven't seen it, and honestly... I hate it. I was willing to look past how fat it was from that angle, but the "State Street" rendered there makes it look even squatter.

Re: Flashing Yellow Turn Arrows

You can't turn right there if you're heading toward Davis. The observations about the traffic light are accurate. If you're heading toward Davis, it's left turn only. Cedar is one way from Highland...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I agree with you. And to be fair, I'm not anti fines/enforcement for fare evaders. I'm just trying to highlight that the notion of "ticketing makes money!" is inaccurate. I actually am a fan of the...

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

It looks like they've actually filed for permits for the bridge: https://everettindependent.com/2019/05/03/encore-boston-harbor-files-for-permits-to-build-critical-pedestrian-cycle-bridge/

We'll...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

You're assuming all 8 who are caught simply pay the fine without appealing or ignoring the citation altogether. That's not an assumption I'd be willing to make. BART is learning this the hard way...

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

Not only that but surface parking at Sullivan is almost always available (Iíve never seen it close to full) and cheap, so itís not as if more drivers canít use it already. The issue with Sullivan...

Re: 40 Trinity Place | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

There's zero chance they keep any of the facade of the existing building, is there? It's not a killer loss from a preservation standpoint, and this project will be a net win for the area/city, but I...

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

I was pleasantly surprised by parking prices. They could be higher, but downtown Boston prices makes sense and should hopefully encourage people to take alternate transit options.

Also, I was in...

Re: The New Bedford Thread

I wish it was across N. 2nd replacing the St. Anne's Credit Union building/parking lot, but this is a good development if it ever happens.

It's a PR softball for him, so of course he's going to say something along those lines. It's not a polarizing topic or a controversial stance (everyone is frustrated by the T issues) so he can come...

Re: Suffolk Downs Redevelopment

Thanks. That's what I thought too - Block 8 at Assembly is a $160 Million project with 500 units (https://cranshaw.com/portfolio-page/assembly-row-block-8/). Or $320k per unit. I can't imagine why it...

Beton, I know you've been advocating for more affordable housing for this development. What do you think about this quote from HYM?

My layperson thoughts are as follows:

1) $500k per...

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

I know this is a minor suggestion in the grand scheme of things, but can we set that ArchBoston Facebook page posting privacy to "members of the group only?" Right now, all posts are public. So if...
