Re: The New Retail Thread

Thumbs up for Time Out Market. Very high quality food at a range of prices. It's like a kicked up food court with alcohol and made-to-order food rather than the usual pre-made mediocre crap you get...

Steve is correct. That map is now out of date.

Re: South Boston Infill and Small Projects

I don't want to hear any more complaints from the locals about parking in Southie. This will definitely solve the problem. :-D

Re: Biking in Boston

I think the City is intending for the official South Bay Harbor Trail route to use Albany St from Melnea Cass to Frontage Road. There are already bike lanes along most if it.

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

If people are complaining about parking prices, that means they are working as intended. If parking were free, I guarantee traffic would be a total nightmare, and the lot will probably regularly fill...

Re: New Red and Orange Line Cars

I wish we had rear-door buttons on buses rather than relying on the driver!

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

The T simply cannot keep up with maintenance. I've been told that it's largely a problem with the operating budget being far too low over a long period of time, even though the capital budget has...

Re: Downtown Crossing

They clearly didn't put any places to sit there so that the "undesirables" won't hang out there. ARGH.

Re: Dot Block | Dot Ave, Greenmount St, Hancock St | Dorchester

Totally agree. The City's obsessions with signals is so frustrating, as is how often they make the timing absolutely horrible.

Re: Archboston revamp

I would just like two things:
- a mobile-friendly site
- the ability to "like" or "up-vote" posts

Re: Dock Square Parking Garage | 20 Clinton Street |

I wish it didn't feel so much like a building on top of a parking podium, that they had done more to try to hide that fact and make the facade feel more continuous.

Re: MBTA Bus & BRT

I was on an SL bus coming from the airport on Friday night. As we approached D St, the signal was green, but it turned red before we got there. We only waited about 30 seconds before it turned green...

Re: Biking in Boston

Putting a bike lane on the MOS driveway was evaluated, and discarded:
(1) The grades are too steep to meet engineering standards
(2) The MOS doesn't want it there
(3) It doesn't go the full length...

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

I work at 100 Summer St and noticed them installing a camera on the shorter building next door on Federal St.

Re: Charlie Card/MBTA Fare Replacement system

The big issue for me is that the gates should be for people entering the platforms, not for people entering the waiting area. What happens if a train is delayed or cancelled or for whatever reason...

Re: Parcel 12 | Massachusetts Avenue at Boylston Street | Back Bay

The protected bike lane needs a better design at the intersection of Boylston St. If it isn't marked clearly, pedestrians are going to stand in it while waiting for the walk signal to cross Mass Ave.

Re: Hood Business Park | 480-570 Rutherford Avenue | Charlestown

I really hate how the buildings seem to turn their back to Rutherford Ave. The City and the Charlestown neighbors really want Rutherford Ave to become much more of a main street rather than a...

Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

The chosen design has an uncanny resemblance to the Gangnam Style statue in Seoul.

Re: Arsenal Yards | Arsenal Mall Redevelopment | Watertown

Yes I think so because a toddler generally goes to bed at a regular hours. The partying 20-somethings are usually the most loud between 11 pm and 3 am. Not good if you're trying to sleep. Plus, kids...

Re: Arsenal Yards | Arsenal Mall Redevelopment | Watertown

We have a 3 bedroom condo above us in the South End. It was occupied by owners, a couple with a young child, for a few years, but then they moved to Newton. Now they are renting it out to 3...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I would prefer that we had just torn down elevated I-93 and replaced it with nothing.
