Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

So I get the MLK is probably one of the most important historical figures of the 20th century and quite possibly the most important in 20th century US History, but why does Boston need to build this...

Re: Motor Mart Tower | 201 Stuart Str. | Park Sq | Boston

This is great. I was expecting disaster and instead we got something very exciting that hopefully makes it through the approval process.

Re: MIT East Campus - Kendall Square Gateway | Cambridge

Yea, because Boston is mostly built up... unless you're proposing tearing down Beacon Hill, The Back Bay, or the North End... or filling in The Public Garden and Boston Common. There isn't much...

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

They look very classy in Vegas which isn't saying much. It's hideous out here. Oh well.

Re: The New Retail Thread

Harpoon is still $6 though. I chatted up the bartender the other evening and they're planning to close again in about a month for total renovations but they wanted to make some money between now and...

Re: Worcester Improvements

I would love if they dug the Ruby Legs name out for the new Worcester team.

Re: Do you still hate the seaport?

Still not a big fan of The Seaport. It's Kendall 2.0. Totally forgettable if you don't work their or have a reason to be there (e.g. resident or visitor).

I usually do a daily loop starting at...

Re: Chinatown Infill Projects

Looked like a soil drilling rig on the tiny parking lot of Clay Pot Cafe at corner of Hudson and Kneeland. I'm not aware of any project for this site do maybe it's just a land owner doing a...

Re: Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

Assuming the design hasn't changed radically this will be a nice consolation prize for Copley Place Tower being shelved.

Re: The New Retail Thread

Probably Goodnight for The Tam. I have a hard time imagining it survives under an investor-group ownership that will want to maximize profit at that location. I've spent way too much time drinking in...

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

They tore down the old five or six story St. Vincent's hospital complex in Worcester using a wrecking ball about 9 years ago. They are indeed fun to watch but the seem really inefficient. You...

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Timeline makes sense in my head... probably another few weeks of demo and rubble clearing. 2021 is a lot closer than it seems... we're at the halfway point for 2018 already.

Re: Worcester Improvements

Grew up in Worcester. Lived there for two decades. Neither of these buildings were worth saving. Notre Dame was always in a terrible location from an urban redevelopment perspective. Mount Carmel is...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

The views are lovely... my entire takeaway from those photo's though was that The Pru desperately needs a facade cleaning.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I'm pretty sure this is topped out in terms of floors and core. Appears to be 32 floors above the mechanical level. And the schematics in the PNF showed 32 floors above mech plus about two additional...

Re: General Electric HQ | 244-284 A Street | Fort Point

GE because GE isn't going out of business and even if they were they would be snapped up by someone else as a major subsidiary rather than just evaporating into thin air.
