Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

The individual windows do wonders for making it feel taller. One's eye just sees a glass curtain as a endless plane with no sense of scale. The little windows really put things in perspective.

Re: Fort Point

In Barcelona they have small bumps every 7 feet or so on the side- I think a little raise at the side would keep peds from straying into the path

Re: Providence developments

Tower looks like it should be in Atlantic City or Orlando, not Providence. I actually think it would look better glass-sheathed, rather than those horrible black window bands.

Good to see...

Re: Unbuilt roads around metro Boston

I wonder what Zarilli would think of the new flood barrier idea and how some folks have proposed to run a highway/rail corridor over it.

Re: Providence developments

I still dislike it. If it were maybe a block or two north it would be good but now its just Jersey Shore meets Le Corbusier.

Re: The Boston "what if" thread

Sad thing is, if it had lasted until the '70s or '80s it could've probably been cleaned up instead of filled. And then we would have beautiful waterfront land in Roxbury and the South End.

Calling people "bloggers" was pretty much the last nail in the coffin needed to convince me.

Re: Proposed But Never Built

I would say somewhere closer to downtown because the website mentions "the adjacent towers" and there are no towers in Eagle Hill. There is a gridded building in the rendering, but I've never seen...

Re: Crazy Transit Pitches

Would it be possible to build a rapid transit line along the Fairmount line by elevating it over the tracks, somewhat like the Union Freight RR and the Atlantic Ave El? You would probably run into...

Re: Parcel P (Foundation Medicine) | 400 Summer Street | Seaport

Re: Volpe Transportation Center Development | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

Thanks! This is very good news. A skyscraper in Kendall will really bring the cityscape into a new league and perhaps a couple other big buildings would follow

Re: Volpe Transportation Center Development | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

What are the chances the 500' tower will actually be built? It seems that it could be just be a proposal that goes nowhere or ends up as another 200' residential building.
