Re: Portland Transit West Project

This wasn't NNEPRA's idea; they just get to coordinate and publish studies for any rail transit idea that gets pushed on them. In this case, I'm pretty sure that it was Rock Row that saw a track...

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

I submit that, given the number of times I see a post with half a dozen or more very large photos quoted only to have the only added comment be "Great work!", that there's a very real use case for a...

Re: Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

I've heard that Covetrus took the Ocean Gateway offices. Is the Compass site the one on Fore St. ( former Hamilton Marine)?

Re: Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

Hey BeeLine, thanks for coming up and for the great pics! To answer two of your comments, the Luminato condos at Newbury and Franklin are new in the past couple of years, not just newly painted, and...

Re: Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

Make it 2 in favor; I've always loved that building and the plaza (spent a lot of time in Bookland and Deering Ice Cream as a tween), largely because it's so unlike anything else on town.

Re: Millennium Tower (Filene's) -Discussion and Photo Thread

I realize it's 4000 square feet, but still... does that deck on the Grand Penthouse look very usable for ordinary entertaining, etc.? It seems so narrow. It also doesn't look like they ran hookup...

Re: Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

I don't know how many of my fellow Portlanders pay attention to the rest of aB, but I'd suggest taking a look at the "ArchBOSTON - A New Dawn" thread in Board Issues. Essentially, Briv sold the site...

Re: Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

Wait, it's in the Novare Res courtyard? I thought it was going to be over on the other side, the CMP lot on Union next to the Hyatt. I always liked that hidden spot!

Re: Archboston revamp

I am going to say three things that pertain strictly to myself:

I'm from Portland;
I'm way more of a suburbanista than most people here;
I've got enough going on and don't plan on doing any...

Re: Rock Row (née The Ridge, née Dirigo Plaza) | Westbrook, ME

Lots of coverage of the event the Rock Row developers held for the arrival of the stage last week. It's all linked here (https://www.rockrow.com/in-the-news) on their news page....

Re: Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

Try Chrome I'd your haven't; I find that the city planning site works poorly in Firefox ( no idea on IE, Edge or Safari).

Re: Thompson's Point, Portland

I don't have the link handy, but I discovered over the weekend that the Thompson's Point developers submitted an updated site plan over the winter, and it appears to eliminate the arena. Plans are in...

Re: Rock Row (née The Ridge, née Dirigo Plaza) | Westbrook, ME

My impression is that it would connect Cumberland Mills (the area near the mill), Rock Row and the PTC ( Amtrak station). It's important to note that this isn't a public initiative, it's the...

Re: Thompson's Point, Portland

It was never going to be that large; it was going to have a few thousand seats to be an intimate setting for the Red Claws and later the circus school. Whether it's still part of the deal, or part of...

Re: Thompson's Point, Portland

The new Suburban Propane site on Riverside St. Is underway, and with a metal building in place there and nothing more than a slab for the new Children's Museum, my earlier prediction is correct: the...

Re: Portland Bayside

I thought the original plan for Midtown was for market-rate apartments? I don't doubt what you're saying, but I wouldn't have associated the project with what you're speaking of.

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I wonder if they had some final touch work going on in the Hub that closed it off, because when I went to the Bruins on Thanksgiving weekend they were using the new exit (see my photo a few pages...

Re: Rock Row (née The Ridge, née Dirigo Plaza) | Westbrook, ME

Part of the adjoining land on the Portland side is owned by the city; the Council has it on their docket to sell to Waterstone with a positive recommendation from staff, but they haven't pulled the...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

So, does anyone think there will still be a (T) meatball on the entry facade? There was originally supposed to be one in between "NORTH" and "STATION," but there isn't room on the sign that was put...
