Re: 128 Widening

Well, if we're going to say that re-aligning the University Avenue exit and creating a Dedham Street exit (my bad, apparently there isn't actually one there today) is absolutely vital to fixing the...

Re: 128 Widening

"We" means MassDOT.

This can absolutely be done with no net loss of park land. I'm willing to tentatively say there'd be no gross loss of land either - the absolute worst case scenario is that the...

Re: 128 Widening

The biggest problem is the movement from 95 north onto 128 north - and that's solved by building a flyover ramp to reduce the turn down to ~90 degrees instead of 270. We can bulk it up to 3 lanes so...

Re: 128 Widening

Yes.

As I said - we own all the land. A lot of it has actually been polluted already, in a sense - if you look at the satellite view over the area in question (http://goo.gl/maps/hYWKh), you can...

Re: 128 Widening

There's no weaving, true, but the interchange itself is a malformed partial cloverleaf that has the entirety of I-95's traffic being shoved through the same kind of ramps that the Woburn interchange...

Re: 128 Widening

I think the 93/95/128 interchange in Canton is a higher priority project than the Woburn cloverleaf.

But that's just me.

Re: 128 Widening

I suppose this is the thread to ask.

Is the freeway section of 140 between 6-195 and 24 up to Interstate Standards, and do the rules of spur Interstate designations allow for a spur route to...

Re: 128 Widening

I was the guy asking about the concurrency. I wanted to know if it was possible to redesignate 101 as 293 east and west in NH to accomodate for an Interstate 89 extension down the length of the...

Re: 128 Widening

What? No!

That stretch does need to be grade separated and those intersections replaced with interchanges (especially Crosby's Corner), but a full on interstate? That's taking things way too far,...

Re: 128 Widening

Yes, exactly - I want the CA/T and immediate surroumdings redesignated for concurrency of 93/95.

Re: 128 Widening

Which is why I'm saying give it the I-128 designation, or 193, 493, 693, 695, 895. It is the most important beltway in the state and possibly the country but it's still a beltway. There's better uses...

Re: 128 Widening

Nope, not even people from other states call it I-95.

All the more reason to delete that interstate designation and send 95 somewhere else, in my opinion.

Re: 128 Widening

No, no, I'm thinking something like this (https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=202447353757257549254.0004c1c3c219ffacc2d19&msa=0).

x90 would require some brand new Interstate ROW, and 89 and x95...

Re: 128 Widening

Is there precedent for a spur Interstate to have concurrency with a major (ie 2-digit) Interstate, as well? I would like to see the 293 designation in NH extended over Route 101 as well, but this...

Re: 128 Widening

Apparently there's no Interstate 28 in existence - maybe we could give non-serious consideration to violating numbering convention so that we can have Interstate 128.

On a more serious note, I...
