Re: Rosa Parks Boulevard

lol at putting adultery or being a bad father on the same footing as slaveholding. Nobody's perfect and it's true that there would be no one left to uphold if we had to overturn every stone in their...

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

The low casino building looks every Cheesecake Factory in this country. I defy the architect to explain their formal moves with a straight face.

Re: Amazon HQ2 RFP

The Olympics were more Trojan horse than gift horse; let other cities have them.

Re: Charlie Card/MBTA Fare Replacement system

I, for one, would love to be able to tap in and out with my phone. "No one wants" is a shaky way to found an argument for obvious reasons.

I have an updating monthly work pass, but used to miss...

Re: Amazon HQ2 RFP

This article was bs. I think Chicago is the stronger candidate but in what world does their college population score higher than ours? MIT alone outmuscles U of C and Northwestern.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Non sequitur that the speed of construction has anything to do with the ultimate height.

Re: General Infrastructure

I know you're just throwing chum in the water, but I'll bite. We will never have flying cars, and that is good because we should never have flying cars.

Individual transit will never be efficient...

Re: Downtown Crossing

Seems like a waste when in-house admin staff could do the same thing.

Re: NorthPoint Cambridge (The one that was train yards, the big plan.)

What, no "Cambridge Landing"? Could've hit the Meaningless 2000s Boston Place Names Bingo.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Agreed on that front. I think the tower itself is fine, though I've never seen one up close so I'm curious to see how the bronze/brown looks. But even if it's excellent the cleanliness of the tower...

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

To each their own but those interiors are ghastly imo. They could stand to do less.

Re: North-South Rail Link

I went. The meeting was fairly well-attended but there wasn't much to talk about, as the study is in relative infancy. On display were boards which were mostly taken from the last study in 2003, from...

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

I remember the poor reception, but there is also a tendency to trash every part of a project during construction before turning around and saying "oh, actually turned out pretty okay" when seeing the...

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

I can't accurately read the depth of the facade elements in the mockup, which I suppose is the point. Looks to be no more than a few inches deep to the glass but from far enough away (or even across...

Re: One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion

225 Franklin is one of my favorite buildings in town. I have no idea how it works inside but I sometimes go out of my way to walk to lunch in POSq so I can see/sketch it. Might just be me.

Re: Amazon HQ2 RFP

I'm okay with relocating Bunker Hill but I'd like to see it remain somewhere on the northside. Lot of people already come a long way just to get down to Community College; I don't want to...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

I'm not going to waste time trying to defend why forms of mobility other than the car contribute to the quality of a city. You claim to have facts and figures on your side, but reduce urban quality...

Re: Amazon HQ2 RFP

I am not a fan of the silicon valley private shuttle buses so I'd want this to be a T route, but a revamped Rutherford Ave/Sullivan Sq would be the perfect opportunity to run buses from North Station...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Caring about overall building height but not about bike lanes, steakhouses, or all the other stuff that goes on here is tantamount to admitting one doesn't know or care about what actually makes a...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

It feels like you keep missing the point. Lest this devolve into another battle on this forum in the height wars, I think all that's being said is that cities can no more "deserve" or "earn" or do...

Re: The Benjamin & VIA (née One Seaport Square) | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

I agree, I don't think it was handled well at all, and it does make me wonder: obviously these superficial transitions are made to attempt to hide the bulk of a building's mass, but is this fooling...

Re: 10 Farnsworth Street | Fort Point

I'll walk my comment back. It does look like there are slots between the black panels to accept fins all the way up the facade. Here's hoping.
