Re: MBTA Bus & BRT

Gotcha, thanks. Wasn't sure if this was brand new tech for us or not. Either way, nice to see a substantial order (194 buses) to keep the roll-out going.

Re: The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Stat, 100% with you on the criticality of environmental protection. But you know who else's $/square foot of pre-existing waterfront property benefits both from reduced floating feces AND limiting...

Re: Quaker Lane + Congress Square | Downtown

Tough to judge without seeing a more zoomed-out view of the ceiling. There's no reason it should be freezing if it is a middle floor (or any floor if engineered properly).
I'm seeing lots of...

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I can't seem to find the numbers for more recently than 2014, but Harvard has not been particularly generous to Boston in terms of their PILOT payments.

I'm not in the camp of saying Harvard is...

Re: The New Retail Thread

Thanks LR, my bad for not elaborating. For completeness, the article also mentions that Union Square Doughnuts and the South End's Anoush'ella will each have a branch within the market. In all, there...

Re: The New Retail Thread

The "Time Out Market" concept that holds contests for local chefs/restaurants to win space for stalls could have fit well, perhaps, but we're getting that at the Landmark Bldg. in Fenway...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

Sure, but that doesn't change my point. When you're out on Saturday night, it becomes clear that the quickest way to get wherever is to take transit. There's little desire for taxicabs or ride-hails...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I know it is a very tired cliché to compare the T to European cities' transit...

But, in seriousness, we can't lose sight of what right looks like.

I have been to many of the major European...

Really interesting inside look at Uber's attempt at self-driving cars (about to resume after taking a hiatus following the death of a pedestrian).

Indeed; it's impressive how much they invested in restoring/improving that building (given that it was seemingly mundane in its previous state):
They blasted out the entire first floor slab and...

Ok, so this is a "transit related" crazy pitch:

We all know too well how funding-starved the transit systems are, and we also know how hard (impossible) it has been to raise the gas tax to fund...
