Re: City Hall - Redevelopment - Preservation - Relocation

The pyramid is close to working out but just needs to be red, shot a laser beam into outer space, and bellow out the screams of the souls of the damned.

Re: North Washington St Bridge

People are trashing the gondola system because:

1.) It is a different mode of transport, with much less capacity than a train.
2.) It is a vaporware proposal being floated so that everyone can...

The Citgo Sign is the only interesting thing left in Kenmore Square.

Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

There are plenty of places on the Common that need some work or could do with some re-imagining, I don't think anyone would pick the space in between the State House and the Brewer Fountain though,...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

Re: Red Line / Blue Line Connector

Ditching North Station and Central Station in lieu of a Union Station that connects to both Aquarium and Haymarket is probably the better bet for giving the Blue Line a direct link to the regional...

Re: Green Line Reconfiguration

Yeah why stop at Dale Street when you can continue to Franklin Park?

In fact you could turn onto American Legion Highway and terminate at the shopping center there for some TOD opportunities.

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Why do they keep redesigning this building. They had it much better one of the first two times?

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

Slowly downgrading an dismantling the transit system sounds responsible to me. Has nothing to do with any subconscious biases against ~*~other~*~ peoples.

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

If we had some progressive political leadership in Mass we might spend more time on rethinking Soldiers Field Road and Storrow Drive and maybe... get rid of the pseudo-highway directly adjacent to...

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium

It's a World Cup year so don't worry we will be getting an update on this vaporware stadium very soon!

Re: Fairmount Line Upgrade

A 'petition' is a bill. It had a hearing in September but didn't get reported out of the committee, so it will probably be reported out to the House in February at the deadline for reporting bills...

Re: Rosa Parks Boulevard

There are certain historical figures who absolutely do NOT deserve any modern recognition, like Columbus or Confederate figures and all of those need to be removed. I don't put the founding fathers...

Re: Rosa Parks Boulevard

The world does need significantly less monuments to Washington and the rest of the founding fathers and we have a million Washington Streets.

Not really feeling Rosa Parks as a street name for on...

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

Unless there is a good bus connection someone wants to propose I'm fine with keeping it at just bike and pedestrian crossings from BU to Beacon Park. But even then you could make a dedicated bus...

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I like how the street grid MassDOT penciled in is still, after all these years, composed of Commonwealth Ave sized streets. Can literally anyone at MassDOT read up on current trends in their field so...

Re: "Midtown"/Widett Circle in a non-Olympics Boston

If the BTD site got sold off, like Kraft was pretending to do with the revs stadium feint, you might be able to access Widett through that redevelopment. If the North South Rail Link happened and...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

They absolutely want to implement distance based fares on the rapid transit system and it's complete bullshit. The rapid transit lines do not go nearly far enough out to justify any sort of increased...

Re: Crazy Transit Pitches

I suppose that you could build on the parking lots and redevelop the eastern side of University Ave to get more density, but the area seems boxed in.

If you're extending the Orange Line it's...

Re: North-South Rail Link

Ari made a blog post making an argument that it would be better to have only two stations anyways: Link (http://amateurplanner.blogspot.com/2017/08/north-station-doesnt-belong-on-north.html)
