Re: T construction news

Seems like such a wasted opportunity to do something interesting like add in retail/stalls or something.

Re: Green Line Type 10 Procurement

That is by far the most unlikely result that will come out of the replacement study - well, full red line conversion or bustitution are booth equally unlikely. As a daily user, I am just hoping to...

Re: Green Line Type 10 Procurement

I think it skips generations. PCCs forever, then the Boings not so much, the Type-7s seem to be more PCC level, and the Type-8s can't be gone soon enough.

Re: MBTA is Considering a Complete Green Line Replacement.

AFIAK, it would require some upgrades to bridges for weight concerns and power upgrades. The loop at Ashmont is also pretty tight (but should make it, I think), and the Mattapan work yard/hut/house...

Re: MBTA is Considering a Complete Green Line Replacement.

I would vote that this thread should probably be closed given the existing thread already for this, and the article is 2 years old.

Re: MBTA is Considering a Complete Green Line Replacement.

I believe this already has a thread - the Green Line Type 10 Procurement (http://www.archboston.org/community/showthread.php?t=5585).

Re: New Red and Orange Line Cars

Could they really use the orange line track, though? I would figure there wouldn't be enough platform clearance for the Red Line (unless they had enough room to move the track over).

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

At least it might actually help with all the track fires, and the occasional person jumping across platforms at Park.... but, yeah, if the feds pay for it why not (use it or lose it), otherwise seems...

Re: New Red and Orange Line Cars

That seems a bit... far-fetched and NIMBY-ish. Are there any real studies showing the presence of PCBs on the tracks/ROW? And if if there are, how does that compare with every other subway line?

Re: New Red and Orange Line Cars

The article made it seem like this isn't abandoned, and that the state retains rights on the entire length other than this small section, which the family bought but has an easement on. Seems like...

Re: One Greenway (Parcel 24) | 0 Kneeland Street | Chinatown

I love the low fence, too. What do they possibly think its going to accomplish? Sure as hell won't keep anyone out.

Re: What are your favorite neighborhoods in/around Boston?

Yeah, Dot, Rozzie, JP. Also always loved Bay Village, and of course Kenmore/Fenway (although completely different now), and Chinatown.

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

Yeah looks like just about a mile walk, which probably isn't viable for most. Maybe a shuttle bus or something from Riverside to Auburndale, but that probably isn't that convenient either, as we are...

Re: Capitalism vs Not Capitalism

I never said you did. I said your source that you linked to promotes climate change denial (among other things) and is garbage-tier.
