Re: State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

If true, that means that the garage should be coming down ASAP.

I'm excited. I was also worried that the garage would stay up after the office and residential towers were built.

Re: Crazy Transit Pitches

I don't see there being any appetite for a Provincetown train from Boston, since the ferry would be much faster.

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

That's far from the biggest issue. Destroying the horribly outdated signal box is why it's taking so long to fix.

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I don't disagree with him, but it's sort of non specific.

The mbta is in the process of replacing all of the orange and red cars, and there is a 218 million dollar project set to update the...

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

Any reason why Statler is no longer mod?

He was a good mod, I think. It's fine if he wants to step down, but I was just wondering.

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

Traffic is getting so f-ing terrible though. Without transit, the region can't grow.

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

Most people have fast unlimited internet in 2019. It's not a big deal like it used to be.

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

No offence man. You're a great contributor.

As far as deleting things, I like the way Van and Statler have handled it over the years, trying to keep the political bickering out of the project...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I'm going to make a partially educated guess and say that this red line derailment was some sort of mechanical failure.

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

^Sorry, but I don't agree with DZ and Stick as mods. They are way too controversial. I'd rather have someone like Data or Beeline.

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

I'm glad that this site finally has an active admin.

I don't mind some unobtrusive adwords. I just hope that the new owner can monetize the site without annoying popups.

And although would...

Re: State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

The facade for the State Street HQ will be all glass.

Re: State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

Apologies for the twisted image, but it looks like they're demolishing part of the garage.

Re: Archboston revamp

If Briv and Statler stay as active admins, I don't really want to move to a different site. This site is great, though it needs improvement and better new account management.

The group asking...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

They're only going toe deep, with infrequent flights for only a month and a half.

There is already a bunch of competition on that route. Spirit, Jetblue, and Delta all fly there. Plus you have...

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

In lieu of montvale, something near Salem St in Woburn would be still be near to Woburn center, and there's more plots of land where a parking lot could be built.

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

It's roughly the same distance as Providence to Boston, maybe even slightly shorter. And Providence has the highest commuter rail ridership outside of Boston stations.

It's currently 46 mins from...

Re: General Infrastructure

I don't see how casino development is any worse for traffic than other large developments. If anything I think Assembly is worse, since Assembly has a bunch of 9-5 commuters.

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

Honestly, for Wilmington and Billerica, i'd just expand parking at the current stations rather then building an infill. There really aren't any dense neighborhoods with a large walk up population...

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

Mishawm would be one. There is already a station there, but only peak reverse direction trains stop there. Only issue is that there isn't much residential in that area.

Between Mishawm and...

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

With electrification having more stops becomes more reasonable. Thinking about it again having a Umass Lowell stop and a N Chelmsford stop would be enough. You could add some rush hour express...

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

Even without NH support for a trip up to Nashua, I think the T should extend the Lowell Line up to the Pleasant Street Mall. The Southern Part of that mall is located in Massachusetts.

For...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I just want to see an easier/more streamlined approval process, and less patchwork zoning. Then you'll see more development.

I don't think eminent domain for a tower makes any sense. If the...

There are a number of fully built cars sitting at Wellington Station.
