Re: The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Is this a joke or are you actually believing that laughingstock study from a brainless NIMBY loon?

Re: The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Do we manage to stave off cannibalism and the zombie apocalypse or does that come afterwards? :D ;)

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

It makes no sense to me to build a platform about one section of the at grade road but not the rest of it. Back when I was young and in shape I used to jog along there and the nice aroma of trains...

Re: BU Data Sciences Center | 665 Commonwealth Avenue | BU Central

Hmmm...I'd say once you get to the CAS building up to the BU Bridge you're in Central Campus, so that would include Warren Towers, the Dugout, GSU, law school, etc. That would leave South Campus as...

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

And the better run conservative state who's economy isn't based on oil revenue is....???

Hmmm...Kansas, WVA, Mississippi, Kentucky, Indiana, South Carolina....

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

I sure do envy the stellar state governments of Alabama, Kentucky, West Virginia and Kansas! No socialism to be found there and coincidentally about the worst states in the country.

It is...

Re: BU Data Sciences Center | 665 Commonwealth Avenue | Kenmore Square

The window treatments combined with the ramp scream "parking garage". Off the top of my head I'd like to see an homage to either its red brick neighbors to the East and North (Bay State Road) or...

Re: BU Data Sciences Center | 665 Commonwealth Avenue | Kenmore Square

Agree completely. Can't put my finger on it but for some reason this thing just doesn't fit the location. Having the base blend more might go a long way.

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

That's not a bad idea, at least for Storrow Drive. You could make drivers use the Pike to get into the city from Western Ave and they'd have to use the existing Pru exit to get to Back Bay. ...

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

Build it at grade and then cover it with a platform purely for pedestrian use from the back of BU to the river. Get BU to chip in a few bucks since they'd be the primary beneficiary but it would...

Re: BU Data Sciences Center | 700 Commonwealth Avenue | Kenmore Square

THIS would be a big improvement.

Regarding retail I concur with the sentiment that its an academic building and not a mall. There is little need for new retail on BU's campus as the edges of it...

Re: BU Development Thread

Yup. I can live with the trying-too-hard-to-be-edgy tower but that base has got to go.

Re: BU Development Thread

Been thinking about this more and while I don't like the building, I dislike the location of it even more. Thinking of BU's campus, such as it is, the East Campus has a heavy Back Bay influence...

Went there for the reunion last weekend. They did a stunning job on the Castle and the Pub. Very, very well done.

Re: Development Map and Chart

As unrealistic as this may sound, this would be more effective than banning luxury construction for the goal of easing the plight of the $50-$100K a year middle class in Boston.

Build luxury...

Re: Development Map and Chart

Money laundering is already illegal. If you or Chuck has any evidence this is actually occurring I suggest you call the US Attorney's office or the FBI.

Aren't we all investors if we own homes?...

Re: Development Map and Chart

Central AC is a luxury element? What is this, 1950? Try living with a pregnant wife during the summer in the city and telling her that cool air is a luxury only meant for the billionaire class.... :D

Re: Development Map and Chart

1) Not all new buildings are luxury - yours is a stupid statement with no evidence behind it. 2) Prices will not ease as long as demand is present, which it is. We should be increasing the amount...

Re: The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

I'm assuming it won't bother them at all or they wouldn't be residents. Nobody's making anyone buy a condo in the place if they don't like the view.

Re: Worcester Improvements

I can't speak to Raimondo's effectiveness overall but I do think as well that the state really dropped the ball. They didn't seem to realize that 1) they had a real threat in Worcester, and 2)...
