Re: Possible Boston soccer stadium | Discussion

How about the GE/Riverworks site in Lynn?

Would be cheaper land compared to somewhere like Allston. You could add more buses from Wonderland during games, and the commuter rail stops there. ...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

The Tobin isn't even in the same direction as the red line.

Anyway, the Tobin construction actually helps I-93 southbound slightly. There aren't as many cars getting through on the Tobin, so I-93...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

https://www.fool.com/investing/2019/07/03/jetblue-is-canceling-more-routes.aspx

JetBlue is also growing at Logan, with some more flights to Reagan and Charlotte.

Re: Unbuilt roads around metro Boston

Looks prohibitively expensive, definitively more so than a NSRL, which would be way better.

Re: New Red and Orange Line Cars

They're visible from Wellington Station, sitting at the yard.

Re: 5 Middlesex Avenue | Assembly Square | Somerville

Waltham and Burlington do, though they're suburban.

Re: 5 Middlesex Avenue | Assembly Square | Somerville

Nothing wrong with having offices next to the interstate. That's how it works in most suburban areas.

Re: The New Retail Thread

That crown goes to Portland ME. More breweries than Boston despite being much smaller.

Re: State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

Yah, it looks weird to have a sign on a glass building, unless it's a box like PWC

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

The traffic from Wynn is overblown. Assembly will still probably have more daily users, when it's built out. But I don't hear the same outroar about Assembly.

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

It's a 25 min trip non express, and a 20 min trip express.

Reliability wise, I've taken the Haverhill daily, and i'd say you have a minor delay (5-10 mins) about once a week, a major delay (over...

Re: State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

No pictures, but when I walked by this today it looks like they're taking off an additional floor of the garage.

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

Tangent, I don't think you've ever driven Sullivan during rush hour. Sullivan would turn into gridlock with 2k extra cars.

What i'd like to see is better service to Anderson Woburn. There is a...

Re: The Boston "what if" thread

I don't think traffic would be any better.

Boston is too dense for cars. The mid 20th century mindset that cars were the future has proven to be false.

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

Thanks Tim

I think we all have some grievances for how this process was handled, but none of it is on Ed. I think we should give Ed a chance.

While he may not have bought the community, he did...

Re: State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

If true, that means that the garage should be coming down ASAP.

I'm excited. I was also worried that the garage would stay up after the office and residential towers were built.

Re: Crazy Transit Pitches

I don't see there being any appetite for a Provincetown train from Boston, since the ferry would be much faster.

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

That's far from the biggest issue. Destroying the horribly outdated signal box is why it's taking so long to fix.

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I don't disagree with him, but it's sort of non specific.

The mbta is in the process of replacing all of the orange and red cars, and there is a 218 million dollar project set to update the...

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

Any reason why Statler is no longer mod?

He was a good mod, I think. It's fine if he wants to step down, but I was just wondering.

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

Traffic is getting so f-ing terrible though. Without transit, the region can't grow.

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

No offence man. You're a great contributor.

As far as deleting things, I like the way Van and Statler have handled it over the years, trying to keep the political bickering out of the project...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I'm going to make a partially educated guess and say that this red line derailment was some sort of mechanical failure.
