Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Is the other tower going up now? I thought they were waiting for a tenant... but I may be misremembering.

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I like the JFK towers, they just need to be cleaned. Losing the lowrise doesn't feel like a loss. It's just a short, bland, boxy, concrete thing that hulks next to the plaza.

FWIW, in its current...

Re: Worcester Improvements

FWIW, a bunch of restaurants opened downtown directly around the Common over the past few months:

- 110 Grill (upscale chain restaurant with a decent hotel bar in the AC Marriott)
- Fuel (coffee...

Re: Fenway Theater | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

I think it looks great. They're only removing only 6 rows from the CF/RF portion of the bleachers (not the little triangular peak under the scoreboard):

Re: 1000 Boylston Street | MassDOT Parcel 15 | Back Bay

Will they be doing the decking for all three projects at the same time, or at least consecutively?

Re: Marriott Moxy Hotel | 240 Tremont Street (Parcel P-7A) | Theater District

Oh no, now we won't know if the building is heading toward or away from us!

Re: BGI Office Tower (Massport Parcel A2) | 401 Congress Street | Seaport

Spiral staircases look great and suck at being staircases.

Re: Boston Freedom Wheel | Long Wharf? | Waterfront

Why was this labeled "Freedom" Wheel? That's not mentioned in the article. Is it some bizarre political statement that has no place here? I don't get it.

Re: Crossroads at Kenmore | 560 Commonwealth Ave | Kenmore Square

IIRC red light cameras hit the political bandwidth at some point in the past but many people a) seem to instinctively think the cameras ripe for abuse, and b) are aware the traffic cameras in Rhode...

Re: Crossroads at Kenmore | 560 Commonwealth Ave | Kenmore Square

If there was a case about red-light cameras I can't find it easily.

Got a link for that?

Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

They're all kind of bad, aren't they? Like overgrown corporate office park landscaping stuff.

Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

Right, it's like the Chicago bean, but complex and ugly.

Reminds me of one of those animated bits where a bunch of hands reach out from hell and pull someone in. Detached arms are always weird.

Re: The New Retail Thread

I don't think you should be throwing the phrase "economic anxiety" around so carelessly. It's become strongly associated with people who are white supremacists.

Re: Massport Parcel A2 | Seaport

I'm pretty sure it's at the intersection of Congress and B St. but on the convention center side. The parcel with the curved on-ramp curling around it along World Trade Center Avenue.

Yea, this. And then there is the threat to notify the photographer. There's something unsettling about that post/comment on a magnitude many times beyond a single instance of alleged copyright...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

This. The architecture of the "people who sent men to the moon" is unhuman garbage and nothing would bring me more joy than leveling it and wiping its memory from the city landscape. It is a complete...

Re: Whiskey Priest/Atlantic Beer Garden Redevelopment | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Interesting is one word for it. I'm assuming most people don't know who Bradley Campbell is (or the CLF) but he and his organization went through a wood chipper in the paper of record in the city...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Ridiculous. Worcester would kill for something that tall and that good. It's twice the height of anything in Worcester and much better designed (yea, Worcester's three "towers" aren't exactly...

Re: South Station Tower

Can't this be said about most latter-half 20th century styles that were designed around a concept rather than what people might actually find attractive to look at?

A lot of this stuff looks good...

Re: Quaker Lane + Congress Square | Downtown

I went by a few weeks ago and think it's inoffensive in person, at least when viewed from Post Office Square. You don't really notice it because it blends into the other buildings unless you're...

Re: DOT Parcels 25, 26, 27, 28 Kneeland Street

I think he's suggesting the optics and/or potential future ramifications of a bid that is extremely low compared to the desired asking price would be bad.

Re: The Boulevard (née The Times/Littlest Bar) | 110 Broad St | Downtown

Reading the comments section of any online news-like publication/article is generally a life mistake. Only crazy (likely also older) people hang out there. You're basically filtering for the most...
