Re: The New Retail Thread

Another thing that is hurting these smaller craft beer stores is that bigger stores are broadening their beer horizon so to speak. Wegmans in Westwood for example, has a pretty solid beer selection....

Didn't CVS start in Massachusetts?

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

Yea, something that would have tied directly into 99 would have made sense. Right now, northbound traffic on 93 will have to get off at Camridge street and navigate the cluster at the rotary.

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

Those are modest upgrades that should have either already happened, or been in the works regardless of the casino being built.

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

This is typical for the road infrastructure in the Boston area. Poorly laid out and and unable to handle the volume.

They should have mandated massive road infrastructure upgrades to go along...

Re: Congestion toll in Boston?

It would be tough sledding to say the least. Just like adding congestion tolls is going to be tough sledding.

Re: Congestion toll in Boston?

The highways in the metro area cannot afford to have lanes taken for this. Adding a lane would be the only realistic option. Ideally you would have an addition full travel lane added in each...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

SATA has run seasonal Lisbon flights for the last several years (in addition to their year round flights to the Azores). TAP Portugal started year round, non-stop flights to Lisbon a few years ago. I...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

An interesting add indeed. Boston to London (and Europe in general) has so much capacity right now, something will eventually have to give. The same could also be said for a number of US cities too.

Re: One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion

I feel the same way. This is a massive upgrade over the ugly facade the building currently has. These types of facades do not hold up well over long periods of time. Glass on the other hand does.

Re: Logan Flight Additions

That's unfortunate. At least Logan will still maintain a year round, non-stop flight to South America with LATAM to Sao Paulo. They've been getting some pretty solid loads.

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Seattle's layout makes it easier for taller towers to get built. First off, Sea/Tac is located 15 miles or so south of downtown. Logan is less than 5 miles from downtown Boston. Seattle's central...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I am not sure if this is the right thread to post this in, but how much of a difference does a surface line vs. underground make? In terms of speed, reliability, etc.?
