Re: Assembly Row (Assembly Sq Redevelopment) | Assembly Square | Somerville

Well Davis is the most expensive part of Somerville!

Though Winter Hill will look the same with the Green Line coming in.

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

The weekend commuter rail revenue acutally grew when the MBTA implemented the cheaper fares. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens with off peak fares.

If a family of four wants to go...

Re: Assembly Row (Assembly Sq Redevelopment) | Assembly Square | Somerville

Floors in triple deckers cost over 500k in Somerville! It's far from Slummerville.

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

A zone 6 ticket could be used in any direction or any time. A zone 6 inter-zone/off peak ticket could be used at any off peak direction, or off peak time.

Very easy to implement under the current...

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

I wouldn't consider anything in Boston to be "supertall".

Wikipedia (not the best source I know) defines super-tall to be over 600 meters.

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I think Avalon North looks a good bit better in person than it does in pictures.

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

How is it not technically feasible? It seems like something very easy to implement with the current payment system. You don't need to wait for AFC 2.0 to adjust the fares.

On the weekend they...

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

Ehh, there isn't really many areas outside of 128 where many people will reverse commute to using commuter rail. The economics of it don't work. A transit pass is often as expensive as driving, and...

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

It would make sense to extend the Northeast regional. For a more premium high speed service i'm not sure that Portland has a large enough business market.

Re: The New Retail Thread

I think the biggest problem CBC is that other liquor stores kept expanding their Craft Beer selection, at a cheaper price compared to CBC.

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

For people coming from Route 2 as a park and ride, it's much quicker to go to North Leominster and park there.

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

95 min travel times from New Bedford. So about 5 mins shorter than the trip to Wachusett.

But Wachusett is only averaging 132 boarding's a day, so it's basically a bust (they were forecasting 400...

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

If the NSRL is ever built, I think you should extend Acela service up to Woburn (where there's a huge parking lot).

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

All of the commuter rail crossings and Wellesley are grade separated, but despite being one of the densest cities in the commonwealth Cheslea is poor so it has multiple at grade crossings.

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

Is rather just increase frequencies on the Newburyport Rockport and add in some electrification before I'd think of branching the orange.

Any plans to grade separate the Cheslea commuter rail stop?

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

To add to your point, I wish there was something in 40B to encourage projects to be next to transit stops.

Many towns that the commuter rail goes through are staunchly anti development, so they...

So with like and dislike button we're basically proposing what Reddit has.

Personally I like the aspect of a like button, but I think removing posts should be left to a report button.

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

The Newburyport/Rockport corridor from Cheslea to Beverly Depot is very dense and could definitively support rapid transit service more so than the more far flung gateway cities like Worcester.

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

The NSRL would allow parts of the Commuter Rail to operate at rapid transit like frequencies.

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

I mean even peak stops have one, two, or no people getting on/off. Absolutely not worth it in its current state. Mishawum gets more ridership and it doesn't receive any peak direction trains.

Of...

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

Looking at that information for other lines, time to close River Works.

Not worth stopping multiple peak trains with 500+ people on it to let off one or two riders.

Looking at the Haverhill...
