Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

presumably, the final crane jump happened yesterday. I think when the mast is upright, it surpasses the tip of the Pru's antennae. IICR I believe the FAA gave a temp vertical clearance of 1000' to...

Re: Quaker Lane + Congress Square | Downtown

This is a rare (only case in Boston?) where I enjoy the offset windows. Very cool.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Top climber was moved in position today just under the slewing unit; expect the crane to rise over the weekend.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

The crane jump started last Friday was completed since these photos were taken (yesterday afternoon); crane cab is now higher than 111's crown.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I'm not in the city during the day, so I can't see its current height since this morning, but they may be only adding a few segments to clear the cab above what's built.

During the storm, they...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

As you notice in David's first pic, the segment of the crane used for hoisting it higher was elevated just below the crane cab yesterday.

Crane was beginning it's jump this morning (presumably...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

IMO, this is the first shot I've seen of the actual building (vs in renders of the finished product) in which its impending slenderness is palpable.

Re: Quaker Lane + Congress Square | Downtown

You have to wonder that being so jarring, that maybe this would have been more successful if the addition was of significant height.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

That would take the building all the way up to the final floor before the outdoor spaces, yes?

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Perhaps it had to do with preparation for an impending crane jump. A third brace attachment to the core was constructed this week above the mechanical floor; they might have had to have accelerated...

Re: Winthrop Square Garage Being Demolished

Inspecting the models, this thing is a monster is size and appearance; I'm especially stunned at how this configuration absolutely dwarfs 100 Federal on pages 326 and 327.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

This has now started its emergence:
- from about South Bay, the concrete pumping equipment has eclipsed the roof line of 177 Huntington (Christian Science Tower).
- from Memorial Drive in the...

Re: Flower Exchange Redevelopment | South End

I'd like to see less hardscape too. I like the irregular shape and dimension to the "mini-drumlin" of the lawn and I'd like to see it repeated on the eastern end, or have a more regular...

Re: Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

Interesting that they scrapped that graded connection from Summer Street to Seaport Blvd (passing over Congress St).

Certainly cheaper for them, but what sort of impact does it have on parcels N...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I think we had a minor crane jump over the weekend. I say minor because I was anticipating our first set of bracing to the core for the crane to be included in it's next jump, but it looks like I was...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I'm not sure if this has been discussed already, but knowing that Phase I and Phase II are happening somewhat "back-to-back," is this core going to be the residential tower's core?

Re: Conley Terminal Dedicated Freight Corridor

I thought we were done with "doghouses?"

The state is in the process of converting to flashing left arrows. Why put these outdated signals up only to then later replace them?

Boom went up this afternoon with counterweights. They haven't threaded it yet though with the cables and hook.

Re: The Huntington | 252, 258, and 264 Huntington Avenue

I'm not convinced we would lose the entire street scape. it looks like they're doing some sort of cantilevered effect over the old facade with the arched windows.

It looks like 252's frontage is...

Re: Yotel Hotel | SPSQ parcel J | 65 Seaport Blvd | South Boston Waterfront

It feels like it was a conscious choice to react to all of the red brick that abuts the backside of Yotel on Farnsworth, Thomson Pl and that alley in between. All of it is bright re brick -...

Re: Waterside Place 1B | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

It's that massive parking garage they (State? BCDC?) want to build over the Pike.

DOT got involved and I think Pollack proclaimed it a "Transportation Center"

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Odd question: How does the load bearing work for these panels that they "snap on" to a building's frame? I assume that precast and stone facades are heavier/sq ft than pure glass, but I'm not sure I...

Re: Pier 4 Office Tower | 140 Northern Ave | Seaport

Does anyone on here have a background into traffic design? This feels like a really beefy installation of traffic signals (multiple doghouse configurations, double redundancy - three lights per side...
