Re: The Boston Arch (Aquarium parking garage)

That's what the (most?) ridiculous part of this whole thing is. Even if in imagination land it were given the green light to start tomorrow, why in the world should there have to be 50% of the site...

Re: Bwahahahahahahahahaha.....

I built this with some friends today, but the height was too much and the FAA made me take the legos down.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

I never really hated One Financial as much as some people. I've always disliked The Federal Reserve much, much more.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

nice pics Boston02124. I really like this building. I can't believe I'm going to say this but: I think it takes a little of the edge off the Federal Reserve building, especially from the waterfront.

Re: Boston 2020 Olympics

^ What he's saying is that Bob Kraft wanted to build in Boston on the waterfront and the city basically told him to get the hell out of here.

If it was in his "best interest" to stay in...

Re: Boston 2020 Olympics

I think it's sad that in order to achieve upgrades and expand mass transit lines we'd have to host an Olympics. Believe me I'd love to see all the upgrades you listed plus the rebuilding/fixing of...

Re: Boston 2020 Olympics

I understand the civic pride sentiment in wanting the games to be in Boston. However financially, why would any of you want the Olympics in 2020?

I'm not trying to be a party pooper, but it just...

Re: The Clarendon

Exactly. I wish I had a 700 foot magnifying glass so I could use the sun to turn this building into dust.

Re: Filene's

It wasn't so much the amount of steel China needed for Olympic structures (and it was a lot) but it was how much of their production was needed for themselves.

China produces by far the most...

Re: Filene's

^The Recession (not just in the US, but globally) combined with China no longer needing so many building materials now that the Olympics are over has really dropped the prices of things like steel...

Re: Patriots Place

I was at the game (HUGE AC Milan fan) and there were a ton of people from out of state and even out of country. I saw a lot of Canadian license plates on the way down to Foxborough and heard more...

Re: W Hotel

Boston02124 some good pics, nice going.

It definitely does look really weird in the rain, almost like it's not done yet.

Re: 'BCN to go off the air

Radio is almost a dead medium now anyways. Probably even more so than the newspaper. I only listen to Sports Radio anyways (WEEI) when I'm listening to the radio at all. I have an iPod, there's...

Re: New Logo for aB?

No offense unterbau, I like Justin's better. They're just a little more simple, almost have a rustic feel. I like the grey and blue ones the best.

Re: New Tower(s) Planned For Prudential Center

While I agree the T is far from perfect, compared to a lot of other cities' subway/metro transit systems, it's one of the better ones.

The main reason the T is used by so many people is that...

Re: Sam Yoon seeks to strip BRA power

Yes, it's one thing to recognize a problem. It's another thing to come up with a viable solution to that problem. I'm not a fan of the way the BRA currently operates, but do like the idea of having a...

Re: New Logo for aB?

We should use the logo that Castevens created for emporis. They didn't use it, it's better than theirs, so we should slap on an AB logo and use it here. It's posted here some place, I can't find...
