Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Calling out stupid opinions as being stupid is the patriotic thing to do. Being polite in the face of total lunacy is what got us President Trump. Its what gave loons like Shirley Kressel way,...

Re: Red Line / Blue Line Connector

I'm all for aspiring for a robust transit solution, but as we found out in the 2016 elections sometimes settling for half a loaf is better than the alternative which in that case was getting the loaf...

Re: Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail

My thoughts:

Correct me if I'm wrong in your calculations, but you seem to be equating the one time cost of the extension (phase I for example) with the ridership in one year's time (1600 in...

Re: Red Line / Blue Line Connector

Its not ideal but its the world we live in. Having an all in transit proposal is great but if its never going to get funded its useless. The GLX is a great example. Sometimes you need to axe the...

Re: Red Line / Blue Line Connector

I'll take a look. Can't access blog now from work. Thanks for the info. Not having the turnaround is huge.

Re: Red Line / Blue Line Connector

I find this somewhat hard to believe from a layman's standpoint. First its a smaller, cut and cover tunnel that won't involve digging up the entire street for a wide tunnel housing two train tracks,...

Re: Red Line / Blue Line Connector

Why not just put in a pedestrian tunnel for the connection from Red to Blue, complete with people movers just like at the airport, and call it a day? This is sorta the concept behind some of the...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

I'm not sure how solid the 691' is. I remember the info said "to average grade". Not sure how that's measured but as we've seen with 1 Dalton is it 744 or 756 or something else? Might be by FAA...

Re: BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill redevelopment

I'm getting a kick out of this discussion. Seems in every class there's always one person who's really into economics, not realizing yet that it's all bullshit and theories with little practical...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Tax revenue also correlates with tall buildings as well. That tends to get missing in these NIMBY vs YIMBY discussions. Delays + lower heights = forfeited tax revenue which could be used for parks,...

Re: BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill redevelopment

Sure they do. If you consider your time to be valuable, then you have to assess you're profiting from going to work as opposed to not working. Also you have to make more money than the cost of...

Re: BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill redevelopment

Umm...this makes no sense. The residents of Charlestown particularly the low income ones in this project are getting brand new dwellings that would never otherwise be built since federal housing...

Re: BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill redevelopment

Thank you. Not only does Kent want the developer to do that, he also wants them to pay for new schools in Charlestown which apparently aren't even needed since the current schools aren't at capacity...

Re: BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill redevelopment

Not sure what the argument is about here. If this renovated housing project is in Charlestown, and the Charlestown schools are under capacity, why does the developer need to build a new school??? ...

Re: Amazon HQ2 RFP

Gotta disagree with this somewhat. I can't believe it won't have some influence on the decision. Maybe not the dominant one but I don't see how you can keep business and politics separate in the...

Re: Allston Yards (Stop and Shop) | 60 Everett St | Allston

Do they have room to do this? As in once the green line gets moved across the street from Lechmere and is extended north, it has to cross the grand junction tracks and the spur that goes over to the...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I read somewhere that not all cats have owners. I even heard a rumor that some cats are considered "wild" ...something called a bobcat maybe?

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Are you in favor of outlawing cats too, which apparently send more birds to their demise than those dastardly tall buildings....

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Agreed. I think Amos cornered John Henry at wherever the swanky cocktail party was for billionaires last weekend and whined that the Glob wasn't running enough pro-NIMBY articles! This is the...

Re: Amazon HQ2 RFP

It bears repeating what another poster wrote previously, which is that Suffolk Downs fit all of the criteria that Amazon was asking for (space, near airport, single owner, on transit, etc). If Bezos...

Probably skipping Newark, as the location is irrelevant to the $7Bn they're offering up. ;)

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I'm all for this except I'm not sure how to get the Green line from Comm Ave or Kenmore over to the site. Realistically I don't expect a tunnel underneath the pike or storrow to happen.
