Re: Dock Square Parking Garage, 20 Clinton Street

The owners of the garage would make less money. In this case, I also don't think they'd be able to build high enough on the site to offset the costs of burying the garage.

Re: The next BIG skyscraper proposal that rises above 600'.....

It's not that rigorous. There are probably 100 cities worldwide going over 600' right now. This includes places like Manchester England, Edmonton Canada, Warsaw Poland, Austin US... Quebec City has...

Re: The next BIG skyscraper proposal that rises above 600'.....

This isn't the 1990's anymore. You sound like somebody who has absolutely no clue what you are talking about. I mean, those 3 cities aren't wrong, but I know why you brought them up.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

It won't be long now before this surges into 4th tallest. Also I figured out with a better render that it looks like it's 59 windows up (including mech screen), not the 58 I originally thought. So...

Re: Assembly Row (Assembly Sq Redevelopment) | Assembly Square | Somerville

Lucky Strike sounds 100% like a bowling alley to me.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Which tower are you referring to? Are you sure you don't mean the tallest building in Dallas?

Also, you might say that Avalon NS is Boston's first true foray into this type of lighting with the...

Re: Tell Me Where to Live

Count me as another vote for the Davis Square area. Around Porter might work for you too. I can't imagine this coming out above $3500, but I also haven't rented in the area since 2011 and...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Note all the random people standing on the field. This is clearly before the game started.

Also, thanks for the cool picture. When this is done it will look taller than the Pru from Fenway!

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Save up your energy, and transfer it to the Volpe project. If they could get 500'+ over there, imagine THAT view. It would be the absolute best in Boston!

You're beating a dead horse on this...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

It would be great if they could build something on that parcel next door to block the side wall. I think it could support a pretty tall tower here.

Speaking of which, I still think everybody...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Unless they revise it again, this is wrong.

First of all, the obvious is that 691' > 685'.

Second, even if you're talking height above sea level, the new one is either the same or 1' taller.

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

I can give 2 examples right in Boston, but neither of them would work in this situation.

1. Marriott Custom House - It works because they only allow people up one time per day, at 2:00. It's not...

What's the date on that article? Are you sure it isn't referring to the prior revision?

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

North Station is 2 totally separate towers that happen to share the same hole, and the podiums are barely connected in the back. The towers are being built as 2 separate buildings with different...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Let me fix that: "yes, i'm heading over to their office now... i plan to take up residence in the shorter wing of their tower."

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Trinity was totally bargain basement. It was a cheap looking design with terrible cladding that wasn't worthy of being the tallest building downtown. It is, however, worthy of being shrunk down to...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

This is definitely not right. It's still technically just 1 building. It does a nice enough job giving off the illusion of being 2, but it's still just 1. The 1 building will be our city's 4th...

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

3 weeks until the deadline and still no news on South Station Tower. I bet the next thing we hear is an extension through December (followed by another one, and another one, and another one....).

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

There you go. You actually used an argument. What you didn't do is argue why THIS BUILDING in THIS LOCATION is a bad thing for the city, or what would make sense here instead of this. You also...

Re: Pierce Boston (née The Point )| Boylston St/Brookline Av | Fenway

Yes but I actually prefer the rock overlook next to the tower, due to the awkward placement of the tower's stairs. So this was from the rocks. Good eye though!

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

I was saying this to my girlfriend too. This hotel looks like all the other Wynn hotels. The design is part of their brand.

Your analogy makes sense, but it's tough to compare a small restaurant...
