Re: Rose Kennedy Greenway

Not sure about the hired political favors part, but a Greenway BID would go a long way to getting the Greenway/Conservancy off of state funds.

Re: Rose Kennedy Greenway

I did see it! Thanks for posting. In any case, to be 200% over budget on something is a bit wacky.

Re: Our Lady of Good Voyage | Seaport Sq Parcel H | 55 - 57 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

I'm sure CJP can pony up the cash for several synagogues in the Seaport district, but I don't think there's enough critical mass to justify them.

Re: Troy Boston (formerly Albany St Hotel) | 275 Albany Street | South End

In this case it is as long as you don't touch it. Once you start disturbing asbestos, the risk of it becoming airborne is pretty high and remediation costs starts to shoot up so CAT decided to just...

Re: Troy Boston (formerly Albany St Hotel) | 275 Albany Street | South End

Yep.

Edit: South Bay Tower was to be built at the site of the current MassDOT building (where those pics were taken from), not that mound.

Re: Troy Boston (formerly Albany St Hotel) | 275 Albany Street | South End

That mound is actually a earthen cap covering a large quantity of soil contaminated with asbestos during the Big Dig. The photos were take from the upper floors of 185 Kneeland St - MassDOT District...

Re: Theater District Parcel P-7A | 240 Tremont Street | Downtown

Maybe some folks are interested in reading what other people here might think, so they ask a blatantly obvious question just to solicit those opinions.

Anywho, how about those small hotel rooms?...

Re: New Brighton Landing | New Balance Complex

Good points. Record cold here plus a port shutdown on the west coast = slow construction activity.

Re: Open Thread

CityLab rarely mentions Boston in any of its articles. When they do it's often anecdotally. They seem to focus on the hip cities du jour: New York, LA, SF, Austin, DC.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Wow, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

But I do agree, some of us are having a hard time picturing how a spire is going to look on top of this building.

Re: Troy Boston (formerly Albany St Hotel) | 275 Albany Street | South End

Re: Rose Kennedy Greenway

That's wrong. There's a full team of in-house maintenance and hort staff that work around the clock. They are the hardest working people I've seen. Met them on the Greenway on several occasions. ...
