Re: The Boston "what if" thread

Traffic would in fact be better, but only because there would be fewer residents and fewer jobs in a city strangled by highways and ramps in which nobody wants to live and work.

Re: Attleboro Downtown Redevelopment

Thanks! My local radius takes me to the Unlikely Story bookstore in Plainville (https://www.anunlikelystory.com/) - beautiful place - as well as Briggs Nursery in North Attleboro. I guess next time...

Re: Attleboro Downtown Redevelopment

Hi Evo,

Can you give some context to what Attleboro is like, for those of us who aren't familiar? I don't live all that far away, actually, but I have never been through.

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

Re: archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

Hi Skyrise,

Thank you for taking this on. I'm sure you did your due-diligence on this purchase, so you must have had a sense for the fact that Briv was absent day-to-day and that we we largely...

Re: Official City Hall Plaza Proposals

$70 Million (!) that won't make much of a difference.

In winter it will still be cold and lifeless. In summer people will have many other nearby parks they'd just as likely be patronizing.

They...

Re: Dock Square Parking Garage | 20 Clinton Street |

Page 28 plots out the ground floor program. Retail along the Greenway is very positive, even if the facade itself at street level will be hideous. Clinton Street really gets the shaft, which is...

Re: Fantasy T maps

First of all, it's great to have new members here, finally - welcome! Cool idea for a thread, much of these pics are sadly buried in obscurity in Crazy Transit Pitches and Green Line Reconfig...

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

+1000. If Needham makes the switch, then the relative inaccessibility of the Seaport would hardly be unique to Needham. The SL's stub-end at South Station means that any place not on the RL or...

Re: City Streets official thread

Holyoke is another local-ish town with a strong grid, very un-New England.

Re: South Station Tower | South Station | Downtown

What? A good deal of the T system still covers areas I'd consider affordable, including the RL which serves the Seaport, as well as SL Chelsea and its transfers via the BL. It seems rather alarmist...

Re: The New Retail Thread

Re: Echelon Seaport | 133-135 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Maybe it's possible there's not a major sqft difference, just a different more open floor plan? The jump to 2BR is significant.

Re: Green Line Type 10 Procurement

The 8's all need new lightbulbs - they're so dim compared to the returning 7's. It actually makes the 7's more appealing.

Re: Parcel 12 | Massachusetts Avenue at Boylston Street | Back Bay

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

I dispute whether any major infrastructure improvement for ~8-12 traffic-generating events per year can be considered "reasonable" ... especially when it benefits a privately-owned venue.

I think...
