Re: One Project, Only One

Yeah - it would honestly be NSRL (along with the electrification/etc work needed for it). If not possible I stand by my original silver line pick.

Re: One Project, Only One

Re: Downtown Crossing

Sure, I just use the cross of Stuart & Tremont as my historical definition of the 'Theater District' - might have not written that very clearly. All the theaters on Lower Washington were well closed...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Yes - if we are to see any 800'+ built it will be in the Back Bay, not downtown due to Logan.

Re: Downtown Crossing

Did the theater district move from Stuart/Kneeland St?

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Maybe "modern" skyscrapper, but certainly not the first. As for height - it might be taller by a few feet, it might be shorter. No one knows. Also, chmeeee, I appreciated the facetious comment :)

Re: North-South Rail Link

If they continue to spend the money they don't have, borrow, and then give it to the shareholders - then, yeah, that is pretty much a kickback to the shareholders, which taxpayers are much more...

Re: North-South Rail Link

Yes, we are the goverment, and that money has already been spent. Unless we are running a surplus (ha) and have generally paid down the national debt, lowering taxes while increasing spending isn't...

Re: San Francisco high-rise sinking, tilting

If it is and does come down, it will probably damage quite a few buildings around it, too.

Re: New Red and Orange Line Cars

Err, the Red Line isn't protected to start testing until next year - only the mockups have been delivered.

The full roll out/replacement of the Orange line is scheduled to be completed in...

Re: New Red and Orange Line Cars

I don't think that is true on the Orange, I thought the existing signaling system could easily support 4 minute (if not sub 4 minute), they just simply don't have nearly enough rolling stock at this...

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport

What exactly is the purpose or use of bringing national and international politics into this thread? Seems extremely off-topic and counterproductive to conversation.

Re: Crazy Transit Pitches

I think the problem with that is it wouldn't have nearly enough capacity for needed headways of rapid transit (10-15 minutes). Also, I would imagine the ideal configuration for 4 tracks would be:

Re: Crazy Transit Pitches

Yeah - Grove Hall would make a lot of sense. I was just hoping that maybe with a full 4 track build + regional rail/all emu service it might be possible (along opening up slots by taking Needham off...

Re: Crazy Transit Pitches

Crazy Idea: CR Infill station between Canterburry St & Cummins Highway. Crazy as it would probably need land taking (doesn't look like enough in the ROW, but maybe with a center platform for 2 tracks...

Re: ArchBoston.net New Site

Technically, if one looks, there is a CVE in this version of vBulletin - however, that would be pretty dubious and questionable legally at best.

So, whats new?

Re: 40 Trinity Place | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

Probably in the minority here - but I would much rather see the existing building stay, especially given all the rest of the glass that will be going up in the area.
