Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

Of course I have, and I'm not calling a "plateau building" a bad thing either. It means it has reached the existing skyline plateau and now legitimately extends that plateau across Government...

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

It's hitting 500' so basically on par with 28 State and 60 State on the other side of the Government Center plaza. A certificate to commemorate!

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Yeah, but that's also literally double the height. It would be a lot easier to stomach the wait if we were getting a sleek 1000'+ instead of some ultra girthy, disco looking hulkasaurus.

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

I really hate this stage of construction. It seems even worse (so much worse) for Boston than for other cities. The garage has been down for 16+ months already, work has been steady and ongoing,...

Re: Volpe Transportation Center Development | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

We have only seen 2 out of 5. 2 of them to come, including the Eastgate replacement, are weird cantilevered blobs. 0 out of 5 are well proportioned.

Also, existing Kendall is about 2 stories...

Re: Volpe Transportation Center Development | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

The Volpe building itself is really the least important part of this development. I'm more worried they half-ass (mediocre designs, layout, and height) a once in a lifetime opportunity at the rest...

Re: Suffolk U dorm (Ames Hotel)

It will be interesting to see what kind of relationship Scape ultimately cultivates with the Boston area. I could see them making a lot of enemies depending on their treatment of this site and Davis...

Re: Redevelopment of Symphony Huntington Properties

I generally agree, but there are scores of better hills to die on than this one. Where were you when we needed to save the corner building in Kenmore that just got razed? This 2 story block just...

Re: MIT Museum/Boeing | 314 Main St. | Kendall Square

She's the fat chick with the really pretty face. Really, really pretty. I hope she has a younger sister in her future with better proportions!

Re: 1000 Boylston Street | MassDOT Parcel 15 | Back Bay

It looks most awkward from the Northeast, for instance the Longfellow Bridge. This is the angle that would have benefited the most from an additional 500'+. For now, 1 Dalton is kind of smushed up...

Re: 1000 Boylston Street | MassDOT Parcel 15 | Back Bay

The original proposal included a taller main tower, PLUS an additional fat midrise. Combined the project had over double the amount of units it was reduced to. It never made sense to make BOTH...

Re: Education First (Phase III) | 10 North Point Blvd | Cambridge

The proportion of windows on this left flank is the proportion that should have been used throughout the whole building. It would have looked much better overall with a little bit more glass. ...

Re: Parcel 12 | Massachusetts Avenue at Boylston Street | Back Bay

This is a question I honestly don't know the answer of. Are green panels somehow a lot more expensive than white/grey panels? I feel like the cost should be around the same, regardless of color,...

Re: Parcel 12 | Massachusetts Avenue at Boylston Street | Back Bay

Is it confirmed that this went from one of the most colorful, exciting proposals in the city to 2 dull, plain white buildings? The BPDA continues to do this city wrong, one sterilizing decision...

Re: Redevelopment of Symphony Huntington Properties

It looks like the 2 story stretch of retail which includes the UPS Store. I have no idea how old that structure is. However, is there any part of it which would be considered a masterpiece?

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Nice pics! Bulfinch tower really shines from that angle. Too bad the office tower will block half of downtown. (first world problems)

Is the general public allowed in that area or do you need to...

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

To me I didn't like the base, the treatment of Bromfield Street, and getting rid of the Payless building. However, the tower portion itself looked bleeping amazing and I stand by that 100%.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Above pics are from Doublet Hill in Weston. My other "mystery spots" are probably either Robbins Farm Park (close to Belmont Hill) or Hattie Symmes Park, both in Arlington.

Others that get some...
