Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

Why tho? Most workers in Kendall live relatively close to Kendall and especially aren't coming in from Worcester. West Station does have merit but GJ just seems like an excuse to spend money. It's...

Re: Ode to Brutalism

Looks like the plaza at everyone's favorite building has been renovated and reopened. I'm glad they chose an architect who could appreciate Rudolph's vision.

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

And the cycle continues. When gas prices started getting high about a decade ago you saw calls for better transit. Now that it's cheaper again everyone forgot about it. This country still prioritizes...

Re: Amtrak / Regional Rail Discussion Thread

Keep in mind that the new Berkshire Flyer would be used primarily by downstate residents to reach their country homes. So it's not like NYS wouldn't be pissing away money for another state.

Re: Roxbury parcels 9 & 10 | Melnea Cass Blvd | Roxbury

A bland box with useless open space. At Alewife I groan but here it's just everything wrong with how we plan American cites. Haven't updated the zoning codes in 60 years? No problem as long as there...

How is this rocket science to so many people still? Since we don't host images here all third party image hosting sites offer FREE resizing. Just post a smaller picture with a link to the full size...

Re: Official City Hall Plaza Proposals

What the fuck? Who is bringing their children to Government Center to play? This is ridiculous.

Re: Fantasy T maps

That's fine. But will that really handle the Kendall development? Personally I prefer a more Harvard based UR since there you can really siphon off ridership from the Red Line, buying Kendall some...

Re: Fantasy T maps

There certainly is and will continue to be demand here. The Red Line can't do it all. But every route I've plotted through Kendall and Cambridge has so many problems. I still hate using Grand...

Re: Future Skylines/Developments of the US

Re: Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

I need to check what I've added. The problem is I don't have exact locations for switches and I'm not 100% on what they are doing with the new yard. If anyone can get me that info I'll add it to the...

Re: I. M. Pei dies at 102

I am such a fan of his early work in concrete residential buildings. It's a real shame that Harbor Towers were never finished as it would have fixed a lot of issues that Silver Towers had in NYC...
