Re: Martin's Park | Children's Wharf | Fort Point

Sweet looking park for a sweet kid who was forced into the ultimate sacrifice. Hope the story is told along with the tribute.

Re: Education First (Phase III) | 10 North Point Blvd | Cambridge

Looks too much like the ugly Lowell Wang towers.

Re: Rose Kennedy Greenway

On a recent trip to Boston I was particularly impressed by the lushness of the parks across from the Intercontinental as well as the abundance of flowers in the North End parks. Everything else...

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

Great pics DZH22! Some of them are in fact wonderful abstractions, artistically rendered, that depict the uniqueness of Boston and her skyline. Great overlay of textures, patterns, shapes, and...

Re: BU Data Sciences Center | 665 Commonwealth Avenue | BU Central

Much better facade design. I am liking this building much more. I had hated it in its previous iteration.

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Just for some perspective: There are parts of Florida that continue to boom non-stop. I live in Hillsborough county, where Tampa and St. Petersburg are located. Next door, in Pasco County alone...

Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

I love this sculpture. Right size, right placement, right color/finish, right material and most of all, the right abstraction to offer remembrance and tribute to MLK. He embraced all of humanity to...

Re: Boston Common Overhaul

Does anyone know what happened to the fourth statue in the set? It was removed when the new headhouse next to the plaza was built, but never relocated. Hope it hasn't disappeared as happened to the...

Re: Emerson College - Little Building Addition + Renovation | 80 Boylston St | Downto

Not the thread, but is there somewhere here where Boston Common improvements are described as related to the Little Building?

Re: Bartlett Yards | 2565 Washington Street | Roxbury

Did an architect actually get paid to design these facades? The grey one isn't even a real facade; it's just a blank wall with holes for windows. Why are residents who will be paying good money to...

Re: Amazon HQ2 selected - and not Boston

History has shown time and again that when a metro area grows to depend on limited kinds of industries or companies the time comes when these generators of cash go away or become obsolete, and no one...

Re: Quaker Lane + Congress Square | Downtown

While I love the look of this project, I lament the loss of Quaker Lane. It was one of the last 17th C street patterns left in the city; it was where Quakers, a seriously persecuted minority, found...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I like the section on the lower floors on Causeway St. that connects up the pieces...the "windows" evoke the old Garden facade. And the section on the right reminds me of the industrial buildings...

Re: Official City Hall Plaza Proposals

I was thinking of Siena as well, but chose Piazza Navona because of the mixed use around it. It used to be a racing stadium. But your illustration of Siena is much more apt.

Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

Each proposal has merit and I like something about all of them. The problem I have is with the amount of territory of the Common given over to one, large monument. I would prefer the Embrace...

Re: Official City Hall Plaza Proposals

It's too bad when they built city hall because they thought of the plaza as an imitation of St. Peter's Square, with the basilica as a backdrop to a vast open space. Yet how does that space work? ...

Re: Downtown Crossing

How many times will they redo this street level, entrance, and lobby? The hulk was unfortunately designed from the beginning, the cladding claustrophobic, the inset fenestration gloomy, and the scale...

Re: Quaker Lane + Congress Square | Downtown

Probably Bronze, not wrought iron or cast iron. Valuable for art's sake as well as for scrap. Too bad they're gone.

Re: Marriott Moxy Hotel | 240 Tremont Street (Parcel P-7A) | Theater District

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

In the past 60 years I've noticed Boston government and Boston businesses (e.g. malls) are famous for one particular peculiarity: creating fountains that work as designed for a year and then fall...

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Las Vegas desert architecture in a very blue collar, industrial setting. Just lovely (sarcasm).

Re: The Berkeley | 370-380 Harrison Ave | South End

Groan...another one of "those" buildings. I'm so sick of glass towers sheathed at the bottom with fake-looking brick facades to "hide" what's obviously an unimaginative block of nothing.
