Cute...I'm guessing maybe Ireland for the first and Spain or Italy for the second?

I would guess northern Germany (because I know Germany has extensive satellite imagery available on Google Maps and MS Live Local), the Netherlands, Belgium, France or Denmark for the first one. The second one: somewhere Mediterranean.

Upon closer inspection, the cars in one photo are sporting yellow rear license plates which could be French, Dutch or maybe even British..

Signs in the second one look Italian to me.

The second one is definitely Italy, I drove by it on my way to Siena from Florence. It's really bothering me that I can't remember its name!!!!

These are villages. Their population is two or three hundred.
