I should qualify by saying that I play rough, so I'd likely be mauled. Laughing

Pretty cute furball, BTW.

Ha. Makes 'fraidy-cat' become all too real.

Animules are odd but endearing creatures.

Is it just me or do New Englanders seem to be cat people more than dog? (No! Don't start another poll.)

HAHAHA! when I read the bit about scooby-doo an image of the old cartoon dog popped into my head and i pictured him trying to pronounce "Garbribre" ....not many things I read on-line make me laugh but that one succeeded thoroughly. too funny. "raownoh" = scooby-doo trying to say "I dont know" .... ahhh what an odd show.

oh yeah and check my latest thread in this section.

Hahah.

My sister had a cat, Diva, a black angora, who was actually mis-named in some ways, and very sweet. But every once in a while, though not with humans, she would get scary. She took an amazing picture of Diva in full freak mode on an outdoor porch rail when another animal came too close. Hysterical. Sadly, I don't have a scanner.

I was going to someday do a "Wild Animals of Oakland" thread. When I go out to snap pics, I get stalked and approached frequently. (I have that animal magnetism -- booooooo!) You wouldn't believe what I've run across scurrying by me. But I'm never fast enough to capture some of the oddest encounters. Fortunately, no mountain lions or bears....yet. Been some serious maulings attributed to them up as close as in the Oakland Hills. Two people have died in the last six months or so.

Anyway, here's the closest to evil I have in my files. Ehhh, not soooo evil, actually, eh?

to get away from the pets and all, I have another idea that I believe would be rather interestingto watch unfold. rather than start a tgotally enw thread, ill post it in here so as to keep things neat. sometimes in these magazines i used to read in HS (stuff, maxim, etc.) they would post these really weird or random photos and challenge people to come up with the best captions for them (as if they were in a news paper or magazine article) and give away free stuff to the winners. now i wont be giving you guys anything, but i think the challenge sounds fun enough to try here for those of us who come here when we are bored and there is no development news to talk about:

try this one:

"spoon-feeding pets: an inefficient practice on the rise in Vermont"

lame, i know, i know you guys can beat that!

can anybody define what the exurbs of boston are? surely providence does not count, but how about worcester and manchester...portsmouth even? or are these cities which in turn have their own exurbs? I am curious because I was reading about a week or so ago about exurbs and how they are the fastes growing regions in the country. the census classified them as those cities on the fringes of a metro region, way far out from the core...and I know worcester is the fastest growing area in mass right now (correct?).

the earth spins like a top, making one rotation every 10,000 years or so (as it obviously spins on its axis every 24 hours, and once around the earth every 365)....we're a what, 33 degree tilt off the 90 degree axis? something like that...whatever...we're not straight up.

Let's say we've been recording weather for 150 years....who knows what changes in climate can happen from a couple of degree shifts on that larger rotation. B/c on the flip side, this is the mildest (BEST!) winter i remember in my life. One day, in a couple thousand (when portland finally has a decent skyline!), our summer will be winter, and vice versa

Earth sphere is Cubic with rounded corners.

Humans must establish 4 corner Earth Cube.

4 Earth corners rotate 4 Time corners -

equating the principle of a 4 pole motor.
Academic bastards will deny the obvious.

Each of the 4 corners of Earth is the
beginning and ending of its own separate
24 hour day - all 4 simultaneous days within
a single rotation of Earth.

DUH!

Very Happy

Sorry, something of an 'in' joke I suppose. I forget not everybody is as geeky as me.
The 'Time Cube' guy (Gene Ray) is a bit of an internet phenomenon. It is either the most elaborate internet hoax ever conceived or the guy is truly bat-shit crazy.
Either way it's pretty funny stuff. It sort of tied into your quote so I threw it out there.
I enjoy spreading 'net memes. Call it a hobby. Smile

It has been miserable for the last week. I have not even seen a glimpse of the sun since last Monday. the amount of rain which has fallen would equate to approximately 100 inches of snow if this same storm happened in january. That would more than triple the record snowfall...

Is everyone pumping out their basements? The board has been pretty quiet for the last couple days. I guess no one has new pretty pictures to post, either ....

I, for one, have been pumping out my basement. I'm back at home in Rhode Island, nowhere near as bad as Mass and NH and Maine (although we still hav e about 8 inches, but they're looking at 15.

Can I just say that Boston.com's Business "Blog" sucks?
I can see how they are trying to be youthful, hip and edgy, but it fails at all three. And what the fuck is up with all the random bolding of words?
